Welcome to Heavenly Bath Milk's Information and Recipes.
Did you know that using milk for beauty has been a practice that has been around for hundreds of years?
There are many people of high birth, including rulers, aristocrats and royalty, who have indulged in the natural qualities contained in fresh milk for both beauty and health reasons. Most famously, Cleopatra was reknowned for her milk baths. Rumour has it that Queen Elizabeth I also had milk baths, as did Elisabeth of Austria, as well as Napoleon Bonaparte's sister, King Francois I of France, Emperor Nero's second wife and the list goes on.
These days, you don't have to be wealthy, royalty or a ruler to enjoy the luxury of bathing in milk. Nor does it have to be a bath full of milk, though that it always an option.
Here you will find information about what is in milk that is so good for your skin, recipes for making the most of your Heavenly Bath Milk and other Heavenly products, as well as links to many websites that provide even more information and recipes.
So what's in Milk that my skin likes so much?
There is one main good-for-skin component in milk that is used in cosmetics: Alpha-hydroxy acids, or AHAs. This naturally occuring acid, from lactic acid, has the capacity to dissolve the dead skin cells that tend to build up on our skin. By applying milk to your skin, you may assist in reducing fine lines and other premature aging from sun damage. For more information on AHAs, here are a few websites that explain where they come from and what they do, in detail: http://health.howstuffworks.com/skin-care/information/health-factors/5-things-about-lactic-acid-skin-care.htm and here http://dermatology.about.com/cs/skincareproducts/a/aha.htm and there's more here http://www.glycolicacid.com/alpha-hydroxy-acid.html .
And now, how do I use it?
The number of ways to use milk for your skin, is only limited by your imagination (and perhaps what's in your pantry!).
There is a plethora of recipes for bathing in, scrubbing and masking. Adjust the recipes to suit yourself and, if you are able, after you and your body have been blissed out, write down your own creations and send them to us.

Gently warm the milk and honey, until the honey dissolves fully into the milk. Do not bring to the boil and then allow the mixture to cool.

Milk, Honey and Egg Face Mask Recipe
http://natureshomespa.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/natural-face-mask-healthy-glow.html
Ingredients (this recipe will make about two masks)
1 egg (full of proteins, vitamins A,D,E ,tightens the pores, softens skin)
2 TBL powdered milk or whole milk (nourishes skin, lactic acid, hydrates,anti-aging benefits)
1 TBL honey (protects from sun damage, antioxidant, absorbs impurities, antibacterial, great cleanser)
Simple and oh so nourishing. HELPFUL HINT: oily or acne prone skin? Use the egg white. Dry skin? Use the egg yolk. Normal skin? Use the whole egg.
Start with a clean face.
In a small bowl combine all ingredients, whisk with a fork or I like to use a hand mixer because it comes out fluffier and easier to apply. Leave on for 10-15 mins or until dry. You can repeat with another layer or rinse after one .Rinse. Pat dry. Your face will feel stunning, I promise you!
Store leftovers covered in refrigerator, use within the week.
If you are allergic to any above ingredients please do not use this mask on your face!
